Deep in the darkest corner of the yarn stash, where stray threads tangle themselves into knots no hook dares to touch, lives Dexter. Crocheted in plush black chenille and forever marked with crimson splatters, he’s not your everyday cuddly gonk. Dexter carries a very suspicious little knife, always sticky with “red yarn” from his latest… project.
Some say Dexter was born on a stormy October night when a ball of yarn rolled off the boat into the towpath shadows. By the time he was hooked together, his stitches had soaked up all the chills of the season. His favourite pastime? Sneaking around the pumpkin patch, leaving eerie little slash marks in the gourds just to keep the Coven on edge.
But don’t worry — Dexter isn’t after you. He’s more interested in keeping nightmares away. In fact, legend has it he scares off the things that go bump in the night by being much scarier himself. Pop him on a shelf or next to your sweet jar, and you’ll find fewer midnight munchers… though you might hear the faint scrape of his blade if you’re up too late.
